Estimates only. Include full labor burden, insurance, overhead and applicable taxes in your inputs. Margin = profit ÷ contract price.

Trade Calculators

Jobsite ModeFast inputs · fractions · favorites

Quick jobsite math for plumbing, HVAC, electrical and general construction. These are geometry and arithmetic tools, not code-compliance designs.

PLUMBING · QUICK TOOL

45° Pipe Offset

Enter your perpendicular centerline offset to calculate travel between two 45° bends.

Centerline travel25.46 in
Horizontal advance18.00 in
Straight cut length: 25.46 inTravel is centerline-to-centerline geometry. Straight cut length subtracts the two entered center-to-end fitting takeoffs. Use measured or manufacturer-specific takeoffs; verify fitting geometry and insertion depths on site.
PLUMBING

Drain slope & fall

10.00 inches of fallSelected slope is not a code recommendation. Verify pipe diameter and local requirements.
PLUMBING

Pipe internal volume

3.26 US gallonsUse actual internal diameter, not nominal pipe size.
HVAC

Airflow / duct velocity

900 feet per minuteRectangular duct velocity only; not a Manual J load or duct design.
ELECTRICAL

Watts / amps

1,800 wattsSimple DC or resistive single-phase arithmetic. AC loads may require power factor.

Water & Gas Jobsite Tools

Residential and commercial takeoffs, quick pipe-volume math, pressure budgets and gas appliance load totals. These tools do not certify pipe sizing.

WATER · RESIDENTIAL / COMMERCIAL

Fixture demand worksheet

0.00 total WSFUTotals are connected water-supply fixture units, not GPM or a pipe-size approval. Commercial flushometer loads and hot/cold branch calculations require the applicable code tables and fixture specifications. Do not add hot and cold columns together as if they were separate combined loads.
WATER · QUICK CHECK

Pipe volume & pressure budget

——Pressure budget excludes pipe friction loss until flow, pipe material, fittings, and sizing method are evaluated. Use actual internal diameter, not nominal trade size. A pressure budget is not a prediction of flowing fixture pressure.
GAS · NATURAL GAS / PROPANE

Appliance BTU load

0 BTU/hr totalEnter appliance nameplate input ratings. Length and pressure are recorded for sizing-table lookup, not used to invent a nominal pipe size. Gas sizing requires fuel, actual pipe material, allowable drop, regulator configuration and approved code/manufacturer tables.

Pipe sizing status: These worksheets help prepare the inputs for sizing. They deliberately do not output a ¾-inch, 1-inch, or gas pipe-size recommendation without a verified code-table calculation.

Pipe Size Recommendations

Preliminary sizing based on your inputs. Select the material and design assumptions, then review the smallest candidate that passes the calculation. Final pipe sizing must be verified against the adopted code, actual fittings, regulators, and equipment specifications.

WATER · PRELIMINARY HYDRAULIC SIZING

Recommended water pipe

Florida code demand lookup

Transfer combined water supply fixture units (WSFU) from the worksheet into design GPM using 2023 Florida Residential Code Table P2903.6(1). Choose predominantly flush-tank (residential) or predominantly flushometer (commercial worksheet) demand. Published range only, with interpolation between listed values.

This is a demand-table lookup, not a final approved pipe design. The commercial worksheet needs correctly entered combined fixture units and confirmation the selected demand curve applies.
Use the approved probable-demand flow derived from fixture units or the fixture manufacturer's design flow; fixture count alone is not enough.—Uses Hazen-Williams and example nominal Schedule 40 inside diameters. Not a code-table WSFU-to-GPM conversion or a final design. Real copper/PEX dimensions differ: verify pipe actual ID and temperature limits. This tool assumes water at ordinary temperature, steady flow, and the entire entered length carrying the selected GPM.
GAS · PRELIMINARY LOW-PRESSURE SIZING

Recommended gas pipe

—Preliminary IFGC low-pressure equation for smooth-inside-wall Schedule 40 metallic pipe, not CSST, polyethylene, or hybrid pressure systems. Enter actual heating value and allowable pressure drop. Size individual branches by the load they carry; total connected load is appropriate for the common main only. Verify Florida Fuel Gas Code tables and utility requirements before installation.
